"Plenty of fascinating weirdness here." – THE GUARDIAN

Ape Sh*t: The Zine for Primates focuses on the history of human relations with other primates.
Issue #1 examines the history of so-called "service" monkeys in America. Starting around 1979, the Boston nonprofit Helping Hands promoted using capuchin monkeys as servants for people with quadriplegia. Good Housekeeping, 60 Minutes, Time, and even Disney World helped fuel a charade that lasted over 40 years.
